ElevenLabs Alternatives (2026): 6 AI Voice Tools Compared on Price

Vorec Team · 2026-10-21 · About 5 min read

The main ElevenLabs alternatives for AI voiceover are Murf, Speechify, Descript, Kapwing, Canva and, for narrating a screen capture, Vorec. They differ in how they meter usage (hours, credits or characters), whether commercial use is included and how much editing sits around the voice. ElevenLabs' recurring plans are Free, Starter $6 a month, Creator $22, Pro $99 and Scale $299, metered in credits (about 30 minutes of speech on Starter, model-dependent). This page compares the alternatives from vendor pages captured between 1 and 20 October 2026 (Vorec: plan catalog, 5 October 2026). Prices are dollars as displayed unless noted, we did not listen-test the voices, and "not checked" means we could not confirm it, not that it is absent. Vorec is our product.

1. Murf Studio: hours-based voiceover studio

Murf Studio lists 200+ voices and 30+ languages and accents, with the video page describing script, uploaded voiceover and per-scene timing. Studio is separate from Murf's API. Free is 10 minutes with no downloads or commercial rights; Creator is $29 a month ($19 with annual billing, $228 a year) for 2 hours of voice generation a month; Business is $99 ($66, $792 a year) for 8 hours. Changing the wording of a text block uses generation time, while changing the voice or delivery of the same text does not. See Murf pricing.

2. Speechify Studio: voiceover on shared credits

Speechify sells a Reader, Studio and an API separately. Studio's Free plan lists 600 credits and no cloning or commercial rights; Starter is $100 a year (86,400 credits, cloning, commercial rights) and Creator $300 a year (345,600 credits). Credits are one shared balance across voiceover, dubbing and avatar; the page does not say whether they are delivered up front or reset monthly. See Speechify pricing.

3. Descript: AI Speech inside a video editor

Descript lists AI Speech with text-to-speech, custom voice clones and Regenerate within a shared AI credit pool on Hobbyist and above ($24 a month, $16 with annual billing; Creator $35 / $24; Business $65 / $50). It edits video through the transcript, so it fits when the voice is part of an edit. See Descript pricing.

4. Kapwing: browser editor with voice on credits

Kapwing's text-to-speech page advertises 180 voices and 40+ languages. Paid plans share credits across TTS, subtitles and dubbing: Pro is $24 a month ($16 with annual billing) with 1,000 credits and up to 50 minutes of TTS a month; Business is $64 ($50) with 4,000 credits and up to 200 minutes. Free has 10 credits and 1 minute of TTS. The page states USD. See Kapwing pricing.

5. Canva: text-to-speech inside a design suite

Canva's AI voice generator takes typed text, with selectable voices and a limit of 1,000 characters per conversion; paid plans unlock more voices. Its pricing page displays local currency (we saw Turkish lira on 20 October), so we do not quote prices here; see Canva pricing.

6. Vorec: narration drafted from a screen capture

Vorec is not a standalone voice library. It records with its own macOS recorder or takes an uploaded recording, drafts narration matched to the captured workflow, and voices it; you edit the script before generating audio, and can regenerate a single segment. Plans (catalog, 5 October 2026): 7-day trial with 100 credits and no card; Starter $9, Pro $24, Business $59 a month. See Vorec pricing.
