Tango Alternatives (2026): 7 Tools Compared on Free Plans and Capture

Vorec Team · 2026-10-20 · About 5 min read

If you are comparing Tango with other guide tools, the main differences are the free plan, desktop capture and what you can export. Tango's Free plan lists up to 10 workspace users and 5 shared workflows; its Pro plans are $30 a month for 1 to 2 users ($22 with annual billing) or $20 ($15) from 3 users. This page compares seven alternatives from vendor pages captured on 15 October 2026 (Vorec: plan catalog, 5 October 2026). Prices are dollars as displayed; we did not test the tools against each other, and "not checked" means we could not confirm it. Vorec is our product.

1. Scribe

Scribe's Basic plan is free with web capture, link sharing, embeds and a "Share as video" option; desktop and mobile capture, editing and PDF, HTML, Markdown and Word export are on paid plans, which also import existing videos (MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV; 30 minutes, 500 MB). Pro Personal is $35 a month ($25 annual billing); Pro Team $29 ($23) per seat with a five-seat minimum. See Scribe pricing.

2. Guidde

Guidde turns a captured workflow into AI-written steps and a narrated video. Free is web-only (up to 25 how-to videos); desktop and mobile sources, PDF and PPT to video, MP4 import and AI text-to-voice start on Business. Pro is $29 per creator a month ($19 with annual billing), Business $59 ($39). See Guidde pricing.

3. Clueso

Clueso records with a browser extension or takes an upload, then drafts an editable script, AI narration, captions and zoom, with written step guides on every plan. Solo is $50 a month with 15 video minutes and 15 articles a month ($40 a month with annual billing, which gives 3 hours and 180 articles upfront); Business $150 ($120) for two users. Its agents page advertises browser-agent recording, which we did not test. See Clueso pricing.

4. Trupeer

Trupeer lists extension recording and video upload, AI voiceovers and documents (DOC, PDF, Markdown on Pro) on shared AI credits: Free covers 10 days (1,000 credits, watermarked), Pro $49 a month ($40 annual billing), Scale $249 ($199). Video generation costs 100 credits a minute. See Trupeer alternatives.

5. Kommodo

Kommodo records screen and webcam, accepts external uploads, and offers AI transcripts, summaries, chapters and guides. Starter is $0 with unlimited recordings and 60-day access to each; Premium is $15 a month ($9 billed yearly). Its guide quota is described inconsistently on its own page, so check it first.

6. Supademo

Supademo is mainly an interactive demo tool, with GIF and SOP export (PDF, PNG) on every plan and MP4 export (1080p with a watermark on Free, up to 4K on paid). AI voiceovers, translation and MCP start on Scale ($50 a month, $38 annual billing, per creator). See Supademo pricing.

7. Vorec

Vorec records with its own macOS recorder or takes an uploaded recording. An AI coding agent can drive the recorder through the CLI, saving the take locally for you to review. Vorec drafts narration matched to the captured workflow, voices it, and can generate a written guide from the same capture. Plans: 7-day trial with 100 credits and no card; Starter $9, Pro $24, Business $59 a month. See Vorec pricing.

Worked example: five creators, annual billing

Arithmetic from the annual-billing prices shown on each vendor's page (15 October 2026; Vorec 5 October 2026), before tax. It compares list prices, not what each plan lets five people produce, so check the limits above.

ToolPlan usedCalculationPer year
TangoPro Team (3+ users)$15 x 5 x 12$900
GuiddePro$19 x 5 x 12$1,140
ScribePro Team (5-seat minimum)$23 x 5 x 12$1,380
SupademoScale$38 x 5 x 12$2,280
GuiddeBusiness (up to 5 creators)$39 x 5 x 12$2,340
VorecBusiness (5 seats, 1,500 standard monthly credits; plan catalog, 5 Oct 2026)$566 a year$566
CluesoBusiness, two-user configuration$120 x 12$1,440 for 2 users

Trupeer lists Pro for 1 creator ($40 a month with yearly billing, $480 a year) and Scale for 3 ($199 a month, $2,388 a year), with no five-creator self-serve configuration captured; Kommodo's calculator showed one user at $9 a month billed yearly ($108 a year). Vorec's plans are credit-based rather than per creator, so the comparison depends on how many tutorials you make.

How to choose

Run one real workflow through your top two before you pay: limits on guides, credits and exports differ in ways the headline price hides.
