Loom and Guidde both capture your screen, so they land on the same shortlist. They produce different things. Loom gives you a video message, usually in your own voice, with a share link. Guidde turns a captured workflow into an AI-written, step-by-step how-to video and a shareable guide. Which one fits depends on whether you're sending a message or building a library, and on which Guidde plan you'd actually buy, because Guidde's AI voice isn't on its cheaper plans.

Two pricing details matter more than the headline numbers:
- Guidde's AI voice starts at Business. On Guidde's 15 October matrix, Free and Pro list recorded voiceover; text-to-voice and Magic Mic start at Business. Guidde says Business covers up to five creators, billed per creator, and viewers don't take a paid seat.
- Loom's AI is a separate plan, not an add-on. Loom sells its AI features as Business + AI. The $6 difference per user per month is our subtraction, not a price Loom quotes for an add-on.

If the five people only watch Guidde guides, they don't need seats. Loom's pricing FAQ says Loom.com annual plans bill distinct paid users while Atlassian's channel uses user tiers, so a large team should check which channel it buys through.
What Each Tool Actually Makes
Loom records your screen, camera or both, and gives you a share link. Loom lists auto titles, transcription and captions on every plan, with transcription in 50+ languages. Paid plans add trimming, stitching and upload/download; Business + AI adds transcript-based editing and filler-word removal. Loom lists browser extensions, a desktop app and mobile apps as ways to record.
Guidde captures a workflow and turns it into AI-written steps, presented as a narrated how-to video and a shareable document. Its product page says existing documents, presentations and raw MP4s can be turned into walkthroughs; on the pricing matrix, MP4/PPT/PDF import is a Business and Enterprise feature, while video-to-knowledge-base-article conversion is checked on every plan. Free capture is web only. Desktop and mobile capture start at Business.

If the workflow you document lives in a desktop app, Guidde Free and Pro won't capture it. The Loom pages we read didn't tie recording sources to a plan, but we didn't confirm desktop-app access on Starter.

- Loom: your recorded voice. The AI features Loom's pricing page lists (21 October) are titles, transcription, transcript editing, summaries and meeting notes; we didn't check for an AI voice feature.
- Guidde: recorded voiceover on every plan; AI text-to-voice from Business, with 200+ voices on Business and 400+ on Enterprise, AI audio in 50+ languages, and premium voices as a Business add-on.
So "no microphone" is a Guidde Business feature, not a Guidde feature in general.
