Clueso vs Descript (2026): AI-Drafted Edits or Transcript Editing?
Vorec Team · 2026-10-21 · About 3 min read
Clueso drafts the edit for you from a recording; Descript gives you a transcript-based editor to make the edit yourself. Both use AI voice, and both meter usage, but on different units: Clueso counts output minutes and articles, Descript counts media hours and AI credits. Facts come from each vendor's pages captured 7 to 15 October 2026; we did not test either tool. Vorec, which publishes this page, is covered at the end.

Who each is for
Clueso suits teams who want a finished first draft of a product video and a written guide from one recording, and would rather review than edit. Descript suits people who edit a lot, especially talk-led video, and want precise control by cutting words. If you record your own voice and want to clean it up, Descript is the more direct tool; if you do not want to narrate at all, Clueso drafts the narration.
The metering difference in practice
Clueso Solo's 15 video minutes a month (or 3 hours upfront on annual billing) is an output cap on finished video. Descript Hobbyist's 10 media hours a month counts uploaded and recorded media, so it is about how much raw footage you bring in, not how long the result is. A team publishing many short videos from long raw recordings will hit Descript's cap first; a team publishing longer finished videos will hit Clueso's.

Where Vorec fits

An AI coding agent can drive the recorder through the CLI, keeping the take local until you approve it. Plans: 7-day trial with 100 credits and no card; Starter $9, Pro $24, Business $59 a month (plan catalog, 5 October 2026). See Vorec pricing.
