Powtoon Pricing 2026: Lite, Professional, Advanced Verified
Vorec Team · 2026-10-17 · About 8 min read
Powtoon's yearly plans look like a bargain next to monthly billing: Lite drops from $49 to $15 a month. But the AI credits change too. On monthly billing, Lite includes 150 AI credits every month. On yearly billing, it includes 300 AI credits for the whole year. If you plan to use Powtoon's AI tools a lot, that difference matters more than the headline price.
We read Powtoon's pricing page in a browser on 17 October 2026, in both billing states, twice each. Every Powtoon price, limit and credit figure below comes from that capture; Vorec's prices come from our live plan catalogue. Where we calculated something, we show the arithmetic and say it's ours.
Verified 17 October 2026 from the rendered Powtoon pricing page (powtoon.com/pricing redirects there). Prices were displayed with a $ symbol. We did not reach checkout, so the billing currency, tax and invoiced totals are unverified.
Powtoon pricing at a glance
These are Powtoon's plans for individuals, which it aims at individuals, creators, small businesses and freelancers.
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed yearly (per month) | 12 × yearly rate (our arithmetic) | AI credits included |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | — | None listed |
| Lite | $49/mo | $15/mo | $180 | 150 a month (monthly) · 300 a year (yearly) |
| Professional | $99/mo | $40/mo, shown as 43% off a crossed-out $70 | $480 at the displayed promotion | 350 a month (monthly) · 500 a year (yearly) |
| Advanced | $199/mo | $125/mo | $1,500 | 800 a month (monthly) · 1,200 a year (yearly) |
The page shows yearly prices as a monthly rate labelled "Billed yearly". It doesn't state the yearly invoice total, so the third column is our multiplication. Professional's $40 is displayed as a promotion against $70. The page doesn't say when the promotion ends or what renewal costs, so don't assume $40 is the long-term rate.
A separate "Teams & Enterprises" tab shows an Enterprise plan with "Custom Pricing" and "Unlimited Users", and a talk-to-sales button. It doesn't list a price.
What yearly billing saves, and what it costs you in credits
Our arithmetic from the displayed prices:
| Plan | 12 × monthly price | 12 × yearly rate | Saving | Saving as % |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | $588 | $180 | $408 | 69.4% |
| Professional (promotion) | $1,188 | $480 | $708 | 59.6% |
| Professional (at the crossed-out $70) | $1,188 | $840 | $348 | 29.3% |
| Advanced | $2,388 | $1,500 | $888 | 37.2% |
Now the credits. Powtoon's FAQ lists them per billing cycle: Lite gets 150 credits per month on monthly billing, and 300 credits per year on yearly billing. Over a full year, that works out as follows (our arithmetic):
| Plan | Credits in a year on monthly billing | Credits in a year on yearly billing |
|---|---|---|
| Lite | 150 × 12 = 1,800 | 300 |
| Professional | 350 × 12 = 4,200 | 500 |
| Advanced | 800 × 12 = 9,600 | 1,200 |
So yearly billing is much cheaper for the editor, and gives you far fewer included AI credits. Which matters more depends on how much you use the AI tools. The FAQ says credits are used only when you generate something, and refresh when your plan renews.
What each plan includes
| Limit | Free | Lite | Professional | Advanced |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Video length | Up to 3 min | Up to 10 min | Up to 20 min | Up to 30 min |
| Storage | 100MB | 2GB | 10GB | 50GB |
| Screen and webcam recordings | 100 | 100 | 200 | 300 |
| Watermark | Powtoon watermark | Removed for 5 exports a month | Removed; "unlimited premium exports" | As Professional |
| Video quality (plan card) | 720p | "MP4 downloads (HD 1080p)" | Full HD 1080p (paid-plan summary) | Full HD 1080p (paid-plan summary) |
| Premium templates and assets | Not included (matrix) | Not included (matrix) | Included | Included |
| Commercial use | Not included (matrix) | Included | Included | Included |
| Custom characters, custom fonts upload, character lip-sync | Not included (matrix) | Not included (matrix) | Not included (matrix) | Included |
| Third-party reseller rights | Not included (matrix) | Not included (matrix) | Not included (matrix) | Included |
"Matrix" means Powtoon's own "Compare all features" table on the same page. The comparison table ticks four rows on all four plans: free templates, assets and stock media; commenting and collaboration; and upload to YouTube, Vimeo and Wistia. It also gives every plan a number of screen and webcam recordings.
Two places where Powtoon's page contradicts itself, so check before you buy:
- Lite's video quality. The Lite card says "MP4 downloads (HD 1080p)", and a summary line says all paid plans include "Full HD video (1080p)". The comparison table marks Lite as "HD" and the two higher plans as "FHD".
- Camera movement on Professional. The Professional card lists "Camera movement control". The comparison table shows a dash for Professional on the "Camera movement" row and a check only for Advanced.
Also note that Lite's watermark removal is capped at 5 exports a month, according to its card. The page doesn't say what happens to a sixth export in a month.
AI features and credits
Each paid card lists the same AI tools: Anything to Video, image generation (Nano Banana), clip generation (Veo3), text to speech (ElevenLabs), avatars (HeyGen), translation and dubbing. They run on Powtoon credits. The Free plan's column in the comparison table shows these AI tools as not included.
Credit top-up packs, from the FAQ:
| Pack | Price | Per credit (our arithmetic) |
|---|---|---|
| 125 credits | $49 | $0.39 |
| 300 credits | $99 | $0.33 |
| 450 credits | $149 | $0.33 |
Powtoon says credit pack purchases are final and can't be refunded or transferred. The page doesn't say how many credits each AI action uses, or whether unused credits roll over. Without that, you can't turn a credit allowance into a number of voiceovers or avatar clips from the pricing page alone.
Free plan and trial
The Free plan is permanent, not a trial. It gives 720p video, videos up to 3 minutes, 100MB of storage, screen recording and a Powtoon watermark. The comparison table shows no MP4/PPT/PDF download on Free.
We didn't find a free trial of the paid plans, or its terms, on the pricing page. That doesn't mean one doesn't exist; check with Powtoon before you rely on one.
Which plan fits
| You are | Likely plan | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Trying Powtoon for a short internal video | Free | 3-minute limit and watermark, but no cost |
| Making a few short videos a month, little AI use | Lite, yearly | Lowest price; 5 watermark-free exports a month |
| Making regular training or marketing videos | Professional | Unlimited premium exports, premium templates, 20-minute videos |
| An agency, or needing brand control and reseller rights | Advanced | Custom fonts, lip-sync, reseller rights, 30-minute videos |
| Heavy AI-generation user | Compare monthly with yearly plus top-up packs | Monthly includes far more credits per year; yearly plus packs can still cost less at some usage levels |

When the video is a software walkthrough
Powtoon is built around animated scenes, characters and templates, with screen recording as one of its features. If the video you need is mainly a walkthrough of software on screen, such as onboarding, a feature tutorial or a help-centre video, the time usually goes into recording the screen, writing and voicing the narration, and keeping both in sync.
Vorec focuses on that kind of narrated screen tutorial. It records your screen with its own macOS recorder, and an AI agent can drive it for you through the Claude Code plugin, capturing locally for you to review before anything is uploaded. It then drafts narration matched to the workflow it captured and generates the voiceover, so nothing is spoken into a microphone. In the editor you can add smooth cursor motion, cursor-follow zoom and click-based auto-zoom, and freeze-sync can hold a frame to give an explanation time to finish. The same capture can also produce a written step-by-step guide, with annotatable screenshots, and narration regenerates in supported languages on eligible plans, without re-recording. You can upload an existing recording instead if you already have one.
Vorec's prices, read from our live plan catalogue on 17 October 2026, are $9, $24 and $59 a month, or $86, $230 and $566 a year. There is a 7-day trial with 100 credits and no credit card required. The trial includes up to 3 projects, and exports carry a watermark. Details are on Vorec pricing.
