Lumen5 Pricing 2026: Plans, Limits and Real Costs

Vorec Team · 2026-10-20 · About 6 min read

Lumen5's pricing page has five plans, but the headline prices only tell part of the story. The yearly toggle says "save 25%", yet on the Basic plan the yearly saving works out to more than a third. And the "unlimited videos" on every paid plan sits alongside fixed monthly allowances of AI voice minutes, animation minutes and translations.

We read Lumen5's pricing page in a browser on 20 October 2026, in both monthly and yearly billing, and took each reading twice. Every figure below comes from that capture. Where we calculated something, such as an annual total or a cost per AI voice minute, we show the arithmetic so you can check it.

Verified 20 October 2026 from the rendered Lumen5 pricing page. Prices are shown in USD. We didn't visit checkout, so tax and the final billed amount are not confirmed.

Lumen5 positions itself as a way to "turn blog posts, scripts, and ideas" into video. The Free plan is labelled $0 forever rather than a time-limited trial. Free, Basic, Starter and Pro are single-user plans. Team is for multiple users, and the page doesn't give a minimum seat count.

What yearly billing actually saves

The page shows a per-month price for yearly billing but not the annual total. We multiplied it out:

PlanMonthly × 12Yearly price × 12You saveSaving
Basic$29 × 12 = $348$19 × 12 = $228$120about 34%
Starter$79 × 12 = $948$59 × 12 = $708$240about 25%
Pro$199 × 12 = $2,388$149 × 12 = $1,788$600about 25%

The toggle's "save 25%" matches Starter and Pro, at about 25%. On Basic the arithmetic gives about 34% ($120 ÷ $348 ≈ 34.5%). These annual totals are our calculation. We didn't see them on the page or at checkout.

The allowances that matter more than "unlimited videos"

Every paid plan says unlimited videos. The AI features that make those videos are metered:

AllowanceFreeBasicStarterProTeam
AI voice minutes2/month20/month60/month180/monthCustom
Animation minutes—1/month2/month5/monthCustom
Voice clones—113Custom
Translations—1/month1/month5/monthUnlimited

On yearly billing the page lists the same allowances per year: 24, 240, 720 and 2,160 AI voice minutes, and 12, 24 and 60 animation minutes. Translations become 12 a year on Basic and Starter and 60 on Pro.

So "unlimited videos" means you can make as many videos as you like. It does not mean unlimited AI narration. A team narrating every video with AI voice on Basic has 20 minutes a month to spread across all of them.

Cost per included AI voice minute

This is a rough way to compare tiers if AI narration is what you're buying. It is our arithmetic, and it treats the whole plan price as if it paid only for voice minutes, which it doesn't:

PlanMonthly price ÷ minutesYearly price ÷ minutes
Basic$29 ÷ 20 = $1.45$19 ÷ 20 = $0.95
Starter$79 ÷ 60 ≈ $1.32$59 ÷ 60 ≈ $0.98
Pro$199 ÷ 180 ≈ $1.11$149 ÷ 180 ≈ $0.83

The page doesn't say what extra AI usage costs beyond these allowances. We list that as unresolved below.

If you need 1080p, the cheapest route is Starter at $59 a month billed yearly or $79 monthly.

What we could not confirm

Lumen5 vs a screen-recording workflow

Lumen5 builds videos from text: blog posts, scripts and ideas, assembled with stock media and AI voice. That suits marketing and social video. If what you need to show is software on screen, such as a product walkthrough, an onboarding flow or a support how-to, the input is a screen recording rather than a script.

That is the job Vorec does. Vorec records your screen, with its own macOS recorder or from a recording you upload, drafts narration matched to the workflow it captured, and generates the voiceover, so nothing is spoken into a microphone. In the editor you can add smooth cursor motion, cursor-follow zoom and click-based auto-zoom, and freeze-sync can hold a frame to give an explanation time to finish. The same capture can also produce a written step-by-step guide with annotatable screenshots.
