HeyGen vs Colossyan (2026): Training or Creator Video?
Vorec Team · 2026-10-25 · About 6 min read
For L&D teams that ship courses into an LMS, Colossyan is the closer fit: its Professional plan includes 5 SCORM exports a month, while HeyGen's Free, Creator and Pro plans all show SCORM export as not included. For marketing, creator and localization video, HeyGen is the stronger match: 175 languages and dialects on paid plans, 4K export on Pro, and a $29 monthly Creator plan. Colossyan's Professional plan is $59 a month on an annual plan (the page shows "Yearly -34%" next to that price). Both vendors offer a free plan with no credit card required. Every fact here comes from HeyGen's and Colossyan's pricing pages, both read on 25 October 2026, including the screenshots we saved of each. We did not test either product. Vorec, which publishes this page, comes up briefly near the end.

Is Colossyan or HeyGen better for training videos?
If "training video" means a course that lands in an LMS, Colossyan's page is built around that job. Its plan cards are split into "Video" and "Learn" sections, it lists unlimited course creation on every plan, a course outline editor, and interactive videos (10 a month on Starter, 15 on Professional).
The deciding row for most L&D buyers is SCORM. Colossyan's FAQ says Professional includes 5 SCORM exports a month, and Enterprise adds unlimited SCORM in streaming and self-contained formats, compatible with SCORM 1.2 or 2004 LMSs. The free Starter plan shows 0.
HeyGen does list a "Learning & Development" section in its comparison table, with Interactive Video, Interactive Quizzes, Video Branching and SCORM Export. On the individual plans we captured (Free, Creator and Pro), every one of those rows is marked as not included. HeyGen also has a "For Businesses" tab that our read did not capture, so we cannot say whether Business includes SCORM. Check that tab before you rule HeyGen out for an LMS.
Which is better for marketing, creators and localization?
HeyGen's pricing page speaks to creators and marketers first, and its feature list shows it. Creator includes HeyGen Voice with up to 10 hours of text to speech, a custom video avatar "with your own voice and likeness", and removal of HeyGen branding. Pro adds 4K export, access to Seedance 2.5, Cinematic Avatars and VEO 3.1 for video and image generation.
For translation, HeyGen's paid plans list 175 languages and dialects, a brand glossary and transcript upload, with script proofreading and voice switching on Pro. Colossyan supports 120+ languages and says narration, on-screen text and interactive elements localize together, with 15 auto translations a month on Starter and 20 on Professional.
So for ads, social clips, sales outreach and wide-reach dubbing, HeyGen's plan list lines up better. For multilingual compliance or onboarding courses, Colossyan's localization ties into its course features.
Which costs less?
On sticker price, HeyGen starts lower: Creator is $29 billed monthly, or $24 a month if you pay annually, per its FAQ. Colossyan's Professional is $59 a month on an annual plan. Our read showed only the yearly view of that card; its monthly-billing price was not displayed, although the FAQ confirms Professional can be billed monthly or annually.
The units differ, so do not compare them directly. HeyGen sells credits, and says a video's cost varies with the AI model, its duration and the complexity of the generation. Colossyan sells video minutes, split into NEO and NEO2 minutes; only generated videos count, drafts do not, and unused minutes do not roll over. HeyGen's monthly credits roll over for one more month, and annual subscribers' credits accumulate until renewal.
On the free plans: Colossyan describes Starter as "$27/month worth of value." That is the vendor's own valuation of a free plan, not a charge. HeyGen's Free plan is 3 watermarked videos a month. Colossyan's comparison table marks watermark removal as unavailable on Starter.
For teams, HeyGen Business is $149 a month plus $20 per seat a month. Colossyan Professional adds members at $30 a month each and caps at 3 editors; beyond that you move to Enterprise. For the full HeyGen tier breakdown, see HeyGen pricing.
What about security and enterprise needs?
Colossyan's FAQ says it is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant, offers EU or US data residency on Enterprise, and does not train AI models on customer content. Enterprise adds SSO/SAML, a dedicated CSM and 24/7 priority support.
HeyGen's individual-plan table shows MFA on all three plans and marks SAML/SSO, audit log and password-protected URLs as not included on Free, Creator and Pro. Its enterprise offering sits behind "Contact Sales", which our read did not cover.

Where Vorec fits
Both tools centre on a presenter. If your training content is a software walkthrough, the screen itself is the subject, and an avatar can get in the way. Vorec takes a screen recording, either from its macOS recorder (which an AI agent can drive through the CLI) or a recording you upload, drafts narration from what happens on screen and generates the voiceover, with no microphone and no avatar. The editor adds cursor-follow zoom and click auto-zoom, freeze-sync holds a frame while narration finishes, and you also get a written step-by-step guide. Plans: a free trial with no credit card required (current allowances on the pricing page) (3 projects, 1080p watermarked exports), then Starter $9 a month ($86 a year), Pro $24 ($230 a year) or Business $59 ($566 a year).
Turn a silent screen recording into a narrated software tutorial, no presenter required. Start your free trial, no card needed. Trial includes up to 3 projects; exports carry a watermark.
